it's nothing wrong doing some precedent studies first before starting, even those who've been in the field for ages still do that cos there's a lot you can actually learn from the good ones.

is the second assignment supposed to be related to the first?

i like your idea of motherhood, and most of all, the decision to make all of them faceless. i think that adds more character to your idea/theme/ whatever you call it.
but!
why the stars look so cartoony?? they dont really match your motherly figure at the foreground. like what your friend suggested, maybe lose the outlines?

and as much as you're improving with the proportions of a human being (like the arms and how they wrap around the baby and the goat? or lamb?)i think a bit more time should be spent on the 'hair'? or more like the connection point between the forehead and the hair.. she looks like she's wearing a helmet of some kind.

all in all, keep the good ideas coming, dearest cousin. Good job so far!

hi Eddy, those comments are good, take it. For As3, wish to see better illustration of bg, and explore the kind of effects for galaxy.

The Mother Earth has afro hairstyle. Cool, dood. Didn't know that she's into fashion. You're very innovative but not creative enough. Show more originality. Substitute the goat with a dog or cow or something. Do different poses. Try not to follow the very same outline of your inspirational picture.
